Connecticut: Sergeant Daniel Westcott of Stamford files charges against Elizabeth Clawson of Stamford and Mercy Disborough of Fairfield for bewitching his seventeen-year-old French maidservant, Katharine Branch, who has been suffering terrible fits for the past few weeks.

Massachusetts: Susannah Sheldon, the newly afflicted girl in Salem Town who claims to have been afflicted by the prominent merchant Philip English in church the previous day, suffers more fits which she blames on English, this time saying that he told her he would kill her if she didn’t touch the Devil’s book.
