Jamaica: The Council meets in Port Royal and sends letters to King William and various officials in England reporting on recent events in the colony and requesting various actions on its behalf, including the replacement of HMS Guernsey and HMS Swan, which are in poor condition from having served so long in the tropics. One of the letters is to William Beeston and Gilbert Heathcote and contains with it the 300 pounds voted as payment for them for their lobbying efforts. The councilors also dismiss charges against the boatswain of the Swan for disobeying his captain on account of the intercession of the captain on his behalf.
