Jamaica: The Council meets and considers a petition from the merchants of Port Royal, declaring that they have lost nearly everything they had in the earthquake and asking for a naval ship to be sent to Porto Bello in Panama to recover 40,000 pounds in debts owed to them. The councilors accordingly send HMS Mordaunt, but with the stipulation that it carry no merchandise.

Mexico/New Mexico: The Conde de Galve receives Noboa’s report of the previous day on the dispute between Governor Vargas and Father Hinojosa and orders it sent to the Junta of the Treasury.
