Jamaica: The Council meets and orders that the recovered goods brought to the king’s storehouse in Port Royal be sold, with 200 pounds of the proceeds to be given to the poor of Port Royal and Kingston.

New Mexico: The reconquest expedition leaves its camp at the outpost of Juan García and continues its journey.  The going is rough, and the wagons are emptied and their loads put onto the pack animals so they are light enough not to get stuck in the sand.  The expedition does, however, successfully arrive by nightfall at the Pueblo of Socorro, which was abandoned during the Pueblo Revolt in 1680, and it makes camp there for the night.
