Connecticut: Richard Holmes appears before Thomas Fitch, commisioner in Norwalk, and testifies that he once asked his mother, a midwife in Stamford who helped deliver some of Elizabeth Clawson’s children, about rumors that Clawson was “not as other women were.”  He says his mother answered that the rumors were true.

New Mexico: Governor Vargas and his expedition march from their campsite to the south until they reach Nacimiento Spring, where they camp.
